Rowan was born in 1995 to non-musical parents who think High Cs would be a world cruise on the QE2!   It was when her friend Holly started piano lessons, that Rowan decided she wanted to do the same and her musical talent started to show in her own piano playing. Her first piano was an old, out of tune, second hand instrument, but certainly increased Rowan’s musical skills.

At her school her headmistress, Mrs Brown, allocated Rowan the role of a singing sheep in the 2004 nativity play when she was nearly ten years old. Things have progressed somewhat since then, and she has performed in numerous shows at Aylesbury, Princes Risborough, High Wycombe and Chesham, with Stageplus and Stagecoach.

Rowan has sung solos at parents’ days at her primary schools, and in her first year at her present school, Aylesbury High, she performed in front of probably the scariest of audiences, 180 of her Year 7 peers, and their parents!

In December 2007, her father arranged for her to spend a Saturday morning  with Phil Goss at his Appletree Studios in Ludgershall. She recorded three tracks, and gave away a limited number of copies of the CD, and she received donations for her form’s chosen Charity, Cancer Research, and managed to raise over £200.

Phil was so impressed with Rowan’s voice that after some research, he recommended that they collaborate, along with Nancy Sawyer, and produce an album.

As well as her singing, for which she is presently studying her Grade 7, she is also learning both the piano and clarinet.

She made her first appearance at the Limelight Theatre in Aylesbury in October 2007. Whilst she only prepared to sing one song, she was called up for an encore. Several subsequent performances have followed.

When relaxing she loves nothing better than spending time with her many pets. She has three chickens (Drumstick, Wishbone and Stuffing) and a dwarf rabbit (Fudge). She has an aquarium with both fish and frogs, two hamsters, called Fluf (Fat Little Ugly Fing) and Pawz, and Bubble & Squeak her two guinea pigs.   And her main love is taking her two Dobermanns (Snafu and Tarfu) for walks in the countryside. (Sadly Snafu died as a result of heart failure on 10 July 2008)
